D.E. Shaw Among Latest Lease Renewals
Investment and tech giant D.E. Shaw Group will renew its 195k SF lease at Edward J. Minskoff Equities’ 1166 Sixth Ave.
The firm takes up the fifth through ninth floors at the 1.6M SF building, the New York Post reports. Asking rents on those floors are in the high-$70s/SF to mid-$80s/SF range. The building’s lobby, lighting and canopies are undergoing a redesign by Gensler architects.
D.E. Shaw’s lease joins several other recent big renewals, including Credit Suisse’s re-up of its 186k SF at 11 Madison Ave and McGraw Hill Financial’s 900k SF renewal at 55 Water St.
CBRE’s Timothy Dempsey, Roger Griswold Jr. and Munish Viralam repped D.E. Shaw, while JLL’s Paul Glickman, Cynthia Wasserberger, Jonathan Fanuzzi and Diana Biasotti repped the landlord. [NYP]
