JPMorgan Chase Wants $19M Subsidy to Move 2,150 NY Jobs to NJ
JPMorgan Chase is considering consolidating 2,150 IT jobs around New York City into one Jersey City location. The bank is requesting a $19M subsidy over 10 years from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. JPMorgan has been checking out New Jersey for over a year thanks to an attractive incentive package, the Wall Street Journal reports. Last year NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio rejected a pitch for hundreds of millions of dollars worth of tax breaks and incentives to help JPMorgan build a new headquarters on Manhattan's far West Side. [WSJ]
