New Rendering for Midtown Tower That’ll a Have Taller Roof Than 1 WTC

With demolition underway at the site for SL Green’s One Vanderbilt, new renderings make the 1,500-foot office tower seem all the more real as a future staple on NYC’s skyline. The 63-story, KPF-designed tower will be the centerpiece of the Midtown East rezoning, and is on track to open in 2020.

It’ll have a higher roof height (though a shorter spire) than One World Trade Center, about three miles to the south. And as the renderings show, it’ll eclipse the nearby Chrysler building when viewed from the east. TD Bank’s signed on as the anchor tenant, with a 200k SF spread. [NYY]
