RXR Nears Deal on 230 Park Ave
The New york Post reports that Scott Rechler’s RXR Realty is “this close” to a $1B-plus deal with Investco to buy 230 Park Ave (formerly known at the Helmsley Building). If the deal goes through it will be the first $1B deal drawn up this year (the $2.25B sale of 1095 Sixth Ave closed this year but was contracted last year). 230 Park Avenue has changed hands four times since 1998, the Post reports, with Monday Properties taking a $390M hit after buying it in 2007 and selling it to the current owners. If RXR buys the iconic building, sources tell us the Met Life Building will still be taller.
