Not Just Another Day at the Office
Yesterday, GFI Realty’s Lou Moskowitz put some of his newest colleagues like Wilfred Matias and Ron Kavral (both above) through the ringer. Their manager Marc Alper put him up to it. Marc was running the company’s semiannual training day (he hopes to make it quarterly as the team grows), and had the GFI rookies cold-call one of his previous clients. They didn’t know it was actually Lou, playing hard to get. They also took crash courses in finance, development, acquisitions (including zoning and FAR), and analyzing deals to find their selling points and took personality quizzes.
Lee & Associates, meanwhile, showed its softer side, turning the living room section of its office into a dining room, using a pot luck lunch as a way to make the commute through the snow worth it. Brokers pulled out all the stops with pulled pork, curry chicken, butternut squash soup, buffalo chicken dip, and carrot cake. The winner, just for being different: Darren Schumer and his iced tea.
