Raphael Toledano May Be Tied To Fake Real Estate Law Firm
Raphael Toledano, a former broker and prominent local real estate investor, may have ties to a bogus real estate law firm.
Toledano has allegedly pretended to be a real estate lawyer with ties to Truman & Wildes, a Park Avenue law firm. Misrepresenting oneself as a lawyer is of course illegal, but that’s not the only issue at play. Truman & Wildes is not a licensed law firm in the tri-state area nor a registered entity in the region, The Real Deal reports.
Truman & Wildes was said to have operated out of an office at 125 Park Ave (pictured), but no such tenant ever existed at the property. The firm’s website, which appeared to be a basic web template with language lifted from legitimate firms, has subsequently been taken down since the allegations emerged.
Toledano, just 25 years old, has built an impressive multifamily portfolio in the city with at least 19 properties and over 350 apartments. He has denied any connection with Truman & Wildes. [TRD]
