A New Concept Is Looking To Apply Co-Working Principles To Retail Space
Co-working is an increasingly ubiquitous part of the global office market, and co-living is trying to have its own moment as well. But is there a place for co-retail?
That's what a new concept in SoHo is betting on. Berenik Boutique & Talenthouse N.Y. has signed a 9K SF lease at 419 Broome St. to house multiple, smaller retailers in an open environment, where each gets its own point-of-sale system, furniture and staffing provided by Berenik. The space is below a condo building that was once home to the late actor Heath Ledger.
The space will be evenly divided between the ground floor and a lower level, and will contain creative office space and a communal meeting area. Retail brokerage RKF represented the owner, Broad Broome LLC, and Berenik was represented by Storefront.
