First NYC Chick-fil-A Opening on Sixth Ave This Summer
The next time you feel a Chick-fil-A craving coming on, you won’t have to drive to Jersey. We speculated a few years back when it might happen, and now it's official. The Atlanta-based chain will open its first stand-alone location in NYC this summer. It’ll be a three-story store at 1000 Sixth Ave, at 37th Street. Asking rent for the 5k SF space was $450/SF, but the chain’s still sticking to its religious-based policy of closed doors on Sundays. Feathers were ruffled in 2012 within the LGBT community when Chick-fil-A opened a store in Boston after CEO Dan Cathy voiced opposition to gay marriage. JTRE Holdings CEO Jack Terzi (pictured) repped landlord Michael Cohen in the deal.
