NYC Gets Another Trader Joe's Location
Trader Joe’s is closing in on a deal for 20k SF ground-floor and basement space at 670 Columbus Ave. The space is in a 35k SF retail condo that Klein Group picked up for $60.5M last year.
Party City has 13k SF at the base of the 280-unit residential condo building. There’s no word yet on whether brokers are involved, according to The Real Deal, which first got wind of the impending deal. There have been reports since late 2014 that the specialty grocer could be eyeing space in the immediate area.
It’ll be the chain’s second store in the neighborhood, assuming the deal goes through. Asking retail rents on the stretch of Columbus Avenue in the 90s run around $450/SF. [TRD]
