FiDi Finally Gets a Whole Foods At One Wall Street
Macklowe Properties and Whole Foods are partnering to make the organic grocery store the first commercial tenant at One Wall Street's residential redevelopment. Taking up 44k SF over three floors, the location's expected to open in 2018.
Macklowe was repped by RKF's Robert K. Futterman, Jaclyn Totolo, Peter Whitenack and Scott Zinovoy, who are marketing the tower's 111k SF of remaining retail space.
In a prepared statement, Peter expressed confidence Whole Foods would attract more high-caliber brands to Downtown Manhattan, which has experienced a residential, commercial and retail development boom.
"Whole Foods coming to One Wall Street is one of many recent signs that Lower Manhattan has matured into a welcoming, full-service neighborhood," Alliance for Downtown New York president Jessica Lappin tells Bisnow. "Between the thriving restaurant scene, the tremendous growth of new retail stores, and now a centrally located grocery store, Lower Manhattan residents no longer have a reason to leave Downtown."
Still, she says, there's plenty of room for more shops and restaurants to make Downtown a vibrant residential and working community.
The high-end grocery chain is currently in 10 locations around the city.
