Renderings Reveal What Union Square Tech Hub Will Look Like
New renderings show what a new city-sponsored tech hub in Union Square will look like when complete.
The 258k SF facility at 14th Street and Irving Place, first announced late last year, will have space for job-training programs, flexible workspace and a new home for the P.C. Richard & Son electronics store that occupies the site.
RAL Development Services, which won the bid to develop another city-sponsored project, Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park, was selected as the developer of the $250M tech hub.
The project is expected to lead to 600 new jobs in the tech industry and 800 construction jobs, according to the city.
Civic Hall, a work and event space aiming to bring together community organizations, tech startups and government agencies, will anchor the space.
There is no specific word on when the facility will open its doors.
