Co-working is a young industry and there is still a lot more demand than there is supply, Vuka Collective founder Brian Schoenbaum said. Vuka Collective is an umbrella of companies that includes an events space called Gather, a co-working space…

National Retailers Are Abandoning Small Town, USA

JASPER, Ala. — David Gifford, a preacher from Hamilton, Alabama, drives nearly an hour to Jasper to shop at the JCPenney at the mall here in the northern part of the state.

He is supporting a stay-at-home mom and two children on his $70K church salary. To save money, Gifford shops the clearance rack and uses loyalty points for out-of-season clothes big enough for his kids to grow into when the calendar comes back around.

Already, investors and market analysts are planning for future deals as though Trump's plan to cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20% is a fait accompli.

Chicago-based Ginsberg Jacobs partner Darryl Jacobs, an expert on tax credits, said that banks and C-corporations are buying as many New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) as they can get their hands on. These credits are designed to promote investment in distressed and low-income communities, but their allocations are based on census data pertaining to poverty, unemployment and median family income.
