Meet Atlantic | Pacific Cos., The Miami Company Gobbling Up DFW Apartments

Atlantic | Pacific Cos. has bought three North Texas apartment communities in the last 90 days, and it doesn't intend to stop there.

Mark Briggs, chief operating officer of the Miami-based company, said it likes DFW's fundamentals and expects to be a long-term player in the market.

A few days after New York-based Convene announced it had raised a $152M Series D round, co-founder and CEO Ryan Simonetti took a break inside the company's newest location at the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old had just finished a series of on-camera and media interviews and there were more to come. Another television crew was setting up and waiting in another room.

Convene, which partners with landlords and provides meeting, event, coworking and flexible workspace, has grown tremendously since Simonetti and co-founder Chris Kelly started the company in 2009 in New York. Simonetti sat down with Bisnow to talk about what is driving that growth.

The Mind-Bending Impact Of Brexit Stockpiling On U.K. Logistics

It is 2018, not 1938, but the U.K. is talking about stockpiling again.

That could drive demand for tens of millions of square feet of storage, but would come with a lot of pain.

However, as always with Brexit, the matter is not that simple. The users of logistics space are clearly starting to make plans for what happens if they need to stockpile. But investors and developers would be taking a substantial risk if they started to adjust their plans now to try and capitalize on this.
