New Anaheim Mayor Takes First Step To Keep Angels Baseball In Town

The new mayor of Anaheim will ask the City Council Tuesday to consider a one-year stadium lease extension for the Los Angeles Angels.

Mayor Harry Sidhu, who was elected in November, said he recently met with Angels owner Arte Moreno and the two discussed ways to keep the team in Anaheim.

“From that meeting, it is clear the team's priority is to stay in Anaheim, if we can work out a deal that benefits our residents, the city and the team,” Sidhu said in a news release. “We need a plan…
