BRIC Comes To San Diego

Opened on April 7: BRIC's Phase 1, a dual-branded Marriott Hotel product: a Residence Inn and Springhill Suites, along with 27k SF of retail space, repped by Jim Rinehart and Matt Moser of Retail Insite. Portman Holdings COO John Portman IV tells us that Phase 2 of the mixed-use development, on the site where the minor-league Padres used to play ball, will come soon after that. Most likely to be built: another hotel and another 32k SF of retail. It's all in the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan (NEVP), and will feature incredible views of the Bay, pretty much from anywhere you're looking.
