Seattle is not a booming real estate market, according to the speakers at our recent Seattle State of the Market event. Instead, Seattle is fundamentally different than it used to be. 

Once a regional economic hub, now the metro area is a global city on the cutting edge of the tech economy. So the recent growth here is something more than just a boom that will recede with the next recession.

Thanks to the rapid pace of technology, data centers are primed for significant growth over the next few years. Mobile computing, the Internet of Things and cloud computing are driving significant demand in the data center industry, according to Cushman & Wakefield Senior Director and Data Center Practice Leader Gene Williams.

As LGBT Baby Boomers Retire, They Are Finding Few Senior Housing Options Dedicated To Them

Three years ago Kelly Kent's organization, SAGE, decided it was time to jump into the housing game.

With the help of two developers, the country's oldest nonprofit dedicated to issues surrounding lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender adults and seniors will break ground on two affordable LGBT senior housing projects in New York City this year.

But Kent said the two developments are not nearly enough to fill the void in the senior housing market — not with the number of seniors in the LGBT community estimated to hit 7 million by 2035.
