How are Chinese assessing US real estate investing? What kinds of investment approaches are they considering or discarding? This week, one of China's leading business magazines, Caijing Magazine, published an article, in Chinese, written by a native New Yorker, Peter Fuhrman, who runs China-based investment bank China First Capital. He advises some larger Chinese investors on US real estate purchases and dispositions. Fuhrman first went to China as a grad student in 1981. He wrote the article together with his company's COO.

It may prove helpful to US market participants struggling to understand how, where and why the Chinese invest in US real estate, what Japan's sour experience shows, and areas where Chinese money will likely now begin to target.
