Daiso’s Beachhead in California

| Dollar stores have done well in the US during the recession, and Daiso, a Japanese low-price retailer with more than 3,200 stores worldwide, has come to Southern California for a piece of the action, planning to open more than 20 stores in the region in 2013. Recently the retailer opened its fourth SoCal store at Euclid Plaza in Anaheim, carrying its signature merch for $1.50 and up (many of your most pressing Hello Kitty needs can be met there). Wilson Commercial Real Estate’s Ken Shishido repped Daiso, while the landlord was repped by Terry Bortnick of Argent Retail Advisors. |
