Drive, Walk, or Ride a Horse to Laguna Hills
November 19, 2012
Work is about to begin on the renovation and expansion of the ’80s-vintage Village at Nellie Gale Ranch in Laguna Hills, a project slated for completion next year. (The builders assure us that the finished product will come with an actual sky.) Besides growing from 60k SF to 88k SF, the Vintage Real Estate-owned property is being redesigned from being “functional in nature,” into a “California coastal vernacular,” notes Nadel design principal Greg Lyon. Among other things, the design includes a proposed variation of parapet heights, roof elements, louvered awnings, and shade structures, as well as a color palette to emphasize a village feel. And only in California: Nadel has integrated an existing equestrian parkway along La Paz into the center's grounds. (Green shopping may never be the same.) |
