Anaheim Approves Tax Incentive for Luxe Hotel Development
The Anaheim City Council has voted to offer room-tax breaks as incentives to developers of high-end resort properties. Under the plan, developers of AAA four-diamond hotels would keep 70% of their bed taxes for up to 20 years, with 10% going to the city, and 20% to pay off bonds issued in the 1990s for city resort district improvements. For now, the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are the only hotels in Anaheim with a four-diamond rating, the Orange County Register reports. The City Council would need to sign off on any specific agreements for such future developments. [OCR]
