Lawsuit Keeps Tustin Condo Project From Going Forward
A 140-unit condo development, known as Vintage, is being delayed by a lawsuit against the City of Tustin and the developer, Intracorp.
The project was supposed to break ground this spring.
Vintage was approved last November after the property was rezoned to a planned community from industrial, the Orange County Register reports.
A month later, a group known as “Citizens for Tustin’s History" filed a petition against the project. The organization is accusing Tustin and the developer of violating the state Environmental Quality Act by saying no environmental impact report was required.
Attorneys from both sides expect the matter to be settled out of court later this year.
Vintage falls into the City of Tustin's plans to help revitalize Old Town. The development would replace a seven-acre industrial park at the corner of Sixth and B streets.
