Big Plans for Pennrose Management
With 20 communities under construction and 40 more in development, Pennrose is pretty bullish on multifamily. Its portfolio of 150-plus properties has 96.2% occupancy. The secret to residential retention? "Treat each of them as you would treat your family," says VP of operations Jim Brady, who joined in October. He's pictured helping interim compliance director Juanita Maiga serve a turkey dinner to residents at Pennrose's Vernon House, a senior community in Philly. (Sharing your stuffing receipe would win us over as tenants.)
Pennrose's long-term growth, he says, focuses on premium multifamily accessible to all, regardess of income or background. How it's been able to do it: tax-credit financing and duplicating effective architectural and developmental elements across the board. Pictured is the just-opened Fairview Village in Phoenixville.
Starting in property management from the ground up, the Connecticut native has been up and down the Eastern Seaboard in his 20-year career, making him the a blend of charming Southerner and fast-talking New Englander. (Perfect for managing Pennrose's 425 employees.) Previously, Jim specialized in redeveloping private housing for military families with Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. Outside of work, Jim enjoys the full-time demands of being a dad and says a family visit to the Please Touch Museum is in order. He was able to pin down his two children long enough for this Thanksgiving photo to be snapped.
