Cleanup CREW
October 31, 2012
Thanks to all the first responders, public and private workers, and volunteers working tirelessly to get the region through these difficult days. Just before the storm, we managed to make it to Chicago for coverage of CREW's annual convention, where we spotted some familiar Philadelphia faces. |
AthenianRazak’s Janet Grace and KSS Architects’ Rebecca Udell, who arepresident-elect and president-elect-elect of CREW Philadelphia (they can no longer fly on the same plane). Janet tells us she’s managing construction of a $3.5M nature preserve visitor’s center and maintenance facility in Chester County for Natural Lands Trust. KSS was just awarded $46M worth of projects for charter schools, as well as a 200k SF office HQ in South Jersey. |
The Natural Lands Trust is a nonprofit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting the forests, fields, streams, and wetlands of Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. It has more than 21,000 acres of nature reserves. Over the weekend, volunteers were preparing trust land for the storm. Pictured are volunteers at Crow’s Nest Preserve in Chester County getting trees and shrubs planted (photo: Daniel Barringer). Digging at this site was difficult due to rocks and roots, but the group persevered. |
