Organics Take NJ
December 7, 2012
Dermody Properties started work recently on a 70k SF distribution facility in Logan Township, NJ, which will be entirely leased to Albert’s Organics, a specialist in organically grown produce, meat, juices, dairy, and soy products. It’s a good catch because organic food retail has been a growth industry throughout the recession—up nearly 10% in 2011 compared with the previous year, according to the Organic Trade Association. (People prefer chicken that doesn't use the same steroids as Barry Bonds.) “Our land is well-suited for this particular use,” Dermody Properties director of development James Mascaro tells us. It will be the company’s busiest distribution center, with room for expansion as the organic trade expands. |
