Presidential City Upgrades for Multifamily Fever
The Presidential Apartments at City Avenue was an emblem of 1950s urban Philadelphia, when everybody was moving to the suburbs. It was built by developer and legend John McShain, who also built Kennedy Center, the Pentagon and the Jefferson Memorial. Thanks to the Post Brothers, the property is getting a $100M, 21st century makeover. Now called Presidential City, it consists of four 12-story buildings and a super-luxury overhaul. Co-founder Michael Pestronk tells us that each building will appeal to a different demographic, all of whom, true to the national trend, are rejecting the suburbs and homeownership. The future, embodied by Presidential City: live/work/play apartment-rental living with awesome amenities. One of those includes the Sora pool club (under construction), with three separate pools, waterside cabanas and massage services. A world-class fitness center is also on its way, as well as high-end apartment features like ultra-size master bedrooms, cooking kitchens and lots of natural light.
