New Mixed-Use Development Coming To Downtown Ardmore

Placeholder

A new mixed-use development in Ardmore has received a recommendation from the Lower Merion Building and Planning Committee to be approved by the Board of Commissioners.

The proposed development would be at the former location of Gillane's Tavern, which currently contains an auto body shop and surface parking lot. The new building is planned to be five stories tall, with 77 apartments above 10k SF of ground-floor retail. It would include below-ground parking for residents, according to Main Line Media.

Bisnow has also learned that Peter Staz and Peter Spain of Core Development will be developing the property. The site is directly across the street from the future location of One Ardmore Place, a much larger mixed-use development by Carl Dranoff's Dranoff Properties that is set to break ground before year's end.

The proposed building would be set back from the curb so as not to require any curb cuts, and will mainly be constructed from the rear to minimize traffic disruption on the busy Cricket Avenue thoroughfare. [Main Line]
