Car-less Philly?
Speaking of driving in the snow, a growing number of city residents don't have their minds on driving at all. A report from the University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute ranked Philly fourth in the US in percentage of households without a car. At 33%, that puts us only behind New York (56%), DC (38%), and Boston (37%). Construction around Philly's student neighborhoods is one sign of this trend, including this residence at Temple University by Goldenberg Development (snapped last month as it was nearing completion). The 14-story building will have 238 units with 832 beds and just 80 parking spaces. Blocks away, just-opened Paseo Verde, by APM and Jonathan Rose Cos, includes 120 units right next to the fourth-busiest SEPTA rail stop.
