Lawndale Hospital, a shuttered former part of Temple University's Jeanes Hospital system, has been sold and will be converted to a multifamily building.

The property has been rezoned and will be called Lawndale Suites after a subsidiary of Pyramid Investment Group sold the property to Metal Unruh, a subsidiary of Metal Group Inc. The sale was brokered by Greysteel, which announced there will be more than $1M worth of renovations on the heels of the rezoning.

The property, in the Lawncrest neighborhood at 623-637 Unruh Ave, is planned to contain 30 market-rate apartments in its low-slung building when it reopens.
