Modular Apartment Building Arrives In South Philly
A modular apartment building has been installed on the corner of Washington Avenue and South 12th Street over the course of one weekend.
The five-story building, which replaced the above HVAC service center, was constructed near Pittsburgh by Westrum Coastal Homes, a subsidiary of Westrum Development. It's set to contain 48 apartments, which only need to have the finishing touches put on before they'll be ready to lease, Curbed reports.
The 10k SF lot onto which the building was dropped was sold for $880k to a company named CSW 1200 Washington Ave in March, and finishing construction is expected to take five weeks. The building sits just two blocks from the developing corner of Broad and Washington. [Curbed]
