Crane Index: Phoenix Construction Robust

Here’s a new commercial property index that’s easy to grasp: Rider Levett Bucknall’s North American Crane Index, which tracks the number of fixed cranes on construction sites in major cities across the continent. "Crane activity has increased in metro Phoenix over the last 12 to 18 months, but for the new North America RLB Crane Index study period—which was Aug. 1, 2014, to Nov. 1, 2014—the number of cranes in use didn’t change,” Rider Levett Bucknall SVP Scott MacPherson tells us. He expects the number of cranes to go down slightly over the next 12 to 18 months, as State Farm’s large Tempe development nears completion.
