Developers Want More Time on Barrister Place Project
Scottsdale-based P.B. Bell and Phoenix-based Davis Enterprises have asked the City of Phoenix for more time to buy and redevelop Barrister Place in Downtown Phoenix. The building dates from 1915, and is best known for making an appearance in the 1960 film Psycho. P.B. Bell and Davis won an RFP for the city-owned property last year with a June 30 deadline; now they want an extension to Sept. 30, the Phoenix Business Journal reports. Redevelopment plans for the historic building, formerly a hotel, call for apartments and ground-floor retail as well as development of adjacent land. [PBJ]
