Could Carlisle's HQ Move Encourage More Corporate Relos To Phoenix?
The relocation of Carlisle Cos to Phoenix (which we covered last week), is part of a bigger trend: greater Phoenix as an attractor for corporate HQs and major regional offices.
“Carlisle's a valued addition to the region, and will complement the notable roster of corporate citizens also claiming Northeast Phoenix as their home,” says Chris Anderson, managing director and city leader for Hines, into whose building (Kierland One) the company will be moving. “We believe it will serve as a magnet for other distinct companies, drawing even more interest and investment in the area.” Carlisle makes a wide range of products for commercial roofing, energy, agriculture, mining, construction, aerospace and defense electronics.
"The combination of net migration to the Valley, and our continued ability to attract new, out-of-state tenants, are fundamental keys to the area's long-term success," agrees CBRE's Chris Marchildon, who has just been named 2016 chairman for NAIOP Arizona Developing Leaders. As a result, Chris says he's "extremely bullish on the metropolitan Phoenix commercial real estate market now and for the next several quarters."
The interest in greater Phoenix in a site selection context comes as new industries expand here. "What's exciting for metro Phoenix is the steadfast improvement that the Valley has experienced in the bioscience, technology, insurance and healthcare industries," Chris notes. "The growth and continued strength of these industries will allow Phoenix to compete on a national level for years to come."
