Bay Area's BRIDGE Housing Bringing More Affordable Housing To Portland
North Portland’s Eliot Neighborhood will soon be home to a development of 61 affordable housing units called North Williams Center. The Portland Housing Bureau selected San Francisco-based BRIDGE Housing for the project in April, allocating $4.5M towards it. BRIDGE discussed the housing project in more detail this week, reports the Portland Business Journal.
North Williams Center will be a four-story, U-shaped building designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects. Common areas will include community gardens, a chicken coop and a play area for children. Albertina Kerr, the nonprofit service organization currently occupying the site, will remain once the development is completed to offer art and garden programs to developmentally disabled clients.
The development will cost $18.3M and accept 40 Project-Based Section 8 vouchers from Home Forward. [PBJ]
