CBRE Portland Employees Participate In HomeAid Portland

CBRE employees in Portland recently joined volunteers through HomeAid Portland, in conjunction with the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland, in a "Build Day" for Community of Hope, an organization dedicated to empowering single-parent homeless families toward stability. The project is part of the company's nationwide Shelter Program, which improves living conditions for homeless and struggling families by providing upgrades and repairs to housing facilities and low-income homes.

This year's Build Day provided a new deck and garden area for the Hope House. Construction involved weeding and planting new garden beds, building a new deck and awning, and new bark along the path toward the deck and in the garden. Inside, the CBRE team worked with contractors to replace the doors on all of the resident suites.

All plants, soil and bark were donated by Pacific Landscape Management, which provided two workers to assist in the build. Lakeside Lumber offered wood for the deck at a significantly reduced cost, and donated the finish to stain the wood. Chamber Bros. and Pacific Crest Structures donated time and materials for the installation of the doors.
