Venture Capital Funding Hits 5-Year High
Venture capital funding for Portland startups reached $283.4M in 2015, the largest amount in five years. This upswing in entrepreneurship is affecting established companies as well, CNBC reports. Nike, Adidas, Intel and Airbnb have all recognized Portland as a breeding ground for success.
The Kauffman Foundation ranked Portland as the fifth best area for established small businesses, finding 1,113 small companies for every 100,000 residents. It seems Portland is calling out to startups, industry behemoths and established small businesses alike. [CNBC]
