Manufacturer Finds Space Despite Portland's Tight Industrial Market
The dollar might be strong and the status of trade agreements in doubt, but some U.S. manufacturers are still growing and taking more space. Recently Superwinch signed a lease at Koch Corporate Center in Tualatin for more than 38k SF, which it will occupy in May 2017.
Space is so tight in the Portand industrial market that the deal was a little tough, according to CBRE vice president Cara Nolan, who repped the tenant. "Initially, we were negotiating on an existing building within the same development; however, another tenant was able to secure it first. Many of the spaces currently on the market have multiple tenants negotiating on them.”
Superwinch makes winch systems and accessories, including electric and hydraulic winches, power drives, accessories and hubs sold to both consumer and industrial end markets. To accommodate its growth, the company is building a new winch design and manufacturing facility in Oregon to complement existing facilities in Connecticut and the UK.
