Another Data Center Coming To Hillsboro
A 47-acre site in Hillsboro has sold to Washington, DC-based DuPont Fabros Technology, which has plans to put a data center there. Because it is within a Hillsboro enterprise zone, the property is eligible for property tax exemptions, potentially saving DuPont hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars each year, The Oregonian reports.
Mal & Seitz Real Estate broker Chris Wagner repped the seller and confirmed a purchase price of $11.2M. While DuPont is eager to take advantage of available tax breaks, it is unlikely that such a data center would create a significant number of jobs. [TO]
