Car-Sharing Service ReachNow Is Coming To Portland
Portland’s next car-sharing service will be ReachNow, which offers usage of low-end BMWs and Minis. The service is already active in Seattle, where 520 vehicles are available at a rate of $0.49 for each minute of drive time and $0.30 for each minute the vehicle is parked. There is a one-time registration fee of $39, the Portland Tribune reports.
“Portland has received national acclaim for its transportation solutions, and we’re thrilled to become part of the city’s transportation future,” ReachNow chief customer officer Sandra Phillips says.
There isn’t a solid launch date yet, but vehicles will be tested around Portland over the next few weeks. The City of Portland is working out details with ReachNow. [PT]
