WHAT LENDERS SHOULD KNOW
October 15, 2012
We also checked in on Friday with Trigild COO Judy Hoffman (with daughter Jennifer and 94-year-old mom, Doris), who's getting ready for the 12th Annual Trigild Lender Conference, Oct. 17-19 at the Omni Hotel. Judy, the conference founder, tells us the program will include the investment shops that are buying nonperforming loans, in addition to those dealing with securitized and balance sheet loans. The keynotes: The Economist business editor Robert Guest and Chandon Economics president Sam Chandon. |
Judy at Bryce Canyon. Trigild?s initial distressed loan recovery conference—one of the first in the industry—drew about 60 attendees, quite a few of whom were Trigild employees, Judy says. Some 400 people are expected this year, and many have attended all 12 years. But it isn't the only thing keeping Trigild busy. The firm recently formed an alliance with Santa Barbara-based Blu Hotel Investors, matching Blu president Mike Barnard?s track record in hotel investment with Trigild?s expertise in hotel management. ?We?ll be able to present something turnkey,? Judy says, looking at properties with the eye of an investor as well as an operator. |
