Scenes From San Diego Power Women
Women, more so than men, must balance personal lives with career. Until there is more gender equity in commercial real estate, many women will have to work twice as hard. It's why we were pleased to honor these 50 women last week as the 2015 San Diego Power Women at the San Diego Public Library, joined by 250 of their supporters.
Unisource's Anne Benge, here with Burger Construction's Brian Von Herbulis, recently disclosed to us that she hasn't worn makeup in 25 years. She's also a huge Bee Gees and Beatles fan.
Innovative Commercial Environments' DeLinda Forsythe, here with husband Tom, began her company in her own home during the depths of the recession. Now she's one of San Diego's most successful women.
JLL's Misty Moore and SLP Urban Planning's Stacey Pennington both were honored as Power Women as well. During the past year, Misty closed some 250k SF in leases for Alliant Insurance in such cities as San Diego, New York, Newport Beach and Seattle.
Allen Matkins senior counsel Heather Riley, also an honoree, spoke about the combined effect each of the Power Women has had on the San Diego skyline, especially in Downtown San Diego, which has seen a revitalization renaissance.
You can read our 10-part series on these San Diego Power Women here. To each and every honoree, Bisnow offers its sincerest congratulations. And we toast to your success in the coming months and years.
