Sharp Converting Rancho Bernardo Retail to Healthcare
Sharp Rees Stealy recently inked a deal for a 100k SF build-to-suit project on 3.5 acres at the former Hooters restaurant site off West Bernardo Drive overlooking I-15 in Rancho Bernardo.
The move will replace the healthcare company's facility at 16950 Via Tazon that is a little more than half the size, says Savills Studley's Michael Labelle, who, along with associate Bridget Garwitz (here), represented Sharp in the deal. Sharp is just the latest healthcare system to expand in SD. "Every hospital system in San Diego seems to be growing," Michael says. The project will be developed and owned in a JV with HP Investors and Lankford & Associates.
And it's not the only sizable deal Michael has worked on lately. He also helped Wells Fargo Advisors ink a 21k SF lease at the High Bluffs Ridge Office Building on High Bluff Drive in Del Mar Heights. The firm is relocating from elsewhere in the Carmel Valley.
