Aim High Gets High Donations

San Francisco

Bidding paddles popped up across Bimbo's ballroom during last night's annual Aim High gala in North Beach. In just 15 minutes, more than $300k was raised for Aim High, which provides low-income Bay Area middle schoolers free summer learning programs. Big-name real estate players dotted the room, with longtime donor Shorenstein honored as partner of the year (prez Glenn Shannon accepted). Among their contribution: help with leasing, furniture, and Glenn and Doug Shorenstein's kids have taught at Aim High. (Not everyone had a great night; one guest opened his Carrera door and a tour bus driving by turned it into tin foil. Be careful out there.)
