CBRE'S NEW BIG FISH
February 15, 2012
This morning we chatted with Andrew Behrens, who just became CBRE’s first Bay Area vice chairman. (We rented a boat and paddled out on the lake.) This is the highest title that producers at the brokerage giant can achieve. Andrew provides financing to the multifamily industry, from agency financing (Fannie, Freddie, and FHA) all the way to construction loans and raising equity for projects. The deals that figured into his rapid ascent—he’s been with CBRE just two and a half years or so—include a $51M loan to help Behringer Harvard acquire Argenta at Polk and Market last year. But since “we go where the client goes” in the Western US, Andrew’s most recent transaction was $21.8M for MG Properties’ acquisition of the 168-unit Barham Villas in north San Diego County. Outside of work, “my family comes first.” He’s got four kids: one’s graduated from the University of Colorado, and the others are four, six, and eight. |
