First Look: San Mateo Condos
We got our hands on an early-in-the game rendering showing The New Home Co's new waterfront community on the Peninsula in San Mateo, which recently began construction. Tidelands, located near the southwestern corner of Mariner’s Island Boulevard and East Third Avenue in San Mateo, will debut this fall as a collection of 76 contemporary residences. The waterfront vistas are big selling points, with views of San Mateo wetlands, S.F. bay and city skyline from different floors. Units will range in size from 925 to 1,518 SF, with prices expected to start from the low $800,000s.
A few months after New Home Company went public, it's taking the Bay Area condo market by storm by starting hundreds of units from Foster City to Lafayette this year. Regional VP Charles McKeag, here in his Walnut Creek office, is especially excited about the new Lafayette development on the two and a half acres it closed on in March. Called Woodbury, the 56 for-sale flats and condos will replace a blighted aging apartment complex and restaurant. Model-home construction will begin in August, with a grand opening for Q1 2015. Also in August Charles is set to speak at Bisnow's Residential Real Estate Summit at Hotel Nikko.
