ICSC Vets For Small Biz

San Francisco

What do a clothing company co-founder, VP of leasing, and coffee shop owner have in common? They were all on an ICSC panel Thursday at Hotel Vitale and they all want to help small businesses by letting landlords know that flexibility needs to be built into leases. Taylor Stitch's Michael Maher, CREAM's Jimmy Shamieh, and Artis Coffee's Alex Lowe were the evening's experts. Alex just opened his java joint in Berkeley. He says that area on 4th Street needed one, and he thinks his 26-seat shop has a leg up on a nearby Peet's, which has one table inside.
