Kilroy Hearts San Fran

| Anyone who doubts that Kilroy is here in town should talk to VP Northern California Mike Sanford. Actually, we did yesterday, so you don't have to. (Not that it wasn't pleasant.) The LA-based REIT made a big splash in The City with several large acquisitions, and Mike tells us Kilroy's looking for more. |

| Mike, in Kilroy’s recently opened regional office, will be a panelist atBisnow’s first State of the Market Summit Nov. 1 at The City Club. (Sign up here!) This year, the company bought 250 Brannan St and 201 Third St in San Fran, and 4040 Civic Center in San Rafael. That follows last year’s purchases of 303 Second and 101 First St. Mike says the 300k SF 201 Third is in a great SOMA location. In the late ’90s, it housed back-office space for Wells Fargo. Kilroy’s converting the building into creative, collaborative space for tech and media tenants—opening up the ceilings and redoing the lobbies and retail plaza. On top of all that, rumor has it Kilroy’s under contract to buy 301 Brannan and 370 Third St. Any purchase won't be Mike's first big splash: he played water polo in high school and was part of three national championship teams at UC Berkeley, |
