SolarCity Inks Monster Lease
San Mateo-based SolarCity just leased the 200k SF, two-building project in Fremont that formerly housed Solyndra, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Solyndra was a solar panel startup that blew up in 2011, and its locale at 47700 Kato Road has stood empty since. Solar will get a second act at the site, which will star as the new R&D center and HQ for Silevo, a Fremont-based startup that SolarCity bought last year to tack on panel-manufacturing capabilities.
