Mystery Flag Coming to S.F.

San Francisco Hotel

A new hotel operator has signed up for the long-awaited 250 4th project, which will dump much-needed hotel rooms right near the Moscone Center. The flag is "well known" and "one everyone will be excited about," one source tells us (an NDA prevents the source from sharing the name). We hear the brand will be new to the West Coast. We also checked in on the ETA and status of the conversion of Olivet Theological University into the 12-story boutique hotel, teed up for 180 to 200 keys. The own has secured a site permit and is going after the foundation permit. Once it breaks ground (after the rainy season in March or April), it could deliver by fall 2016. It's a tight site and construction will be complicated, sources say, especially because of its proximity to the Central Subway line underway.
