Bay Area Airbnb Rental Demand Surges For Super Bowl 50
It looks like the most popular place to stay for Super Bowl 50 may be someone else's home, and not necessarily your best friend.
Airbnb reported last week people are searching Bay Area accommodations more than twice as much as usual, and demand for Bay Area rentals for Super Bowl 50 is three times higher than it was in Arizona for last year's Super Bowl.
When Airbnb reviewed the numbers last week, there were still more than 6,000 listings available, though many of those come at a price. So far, bookings in San Jose and Santa Clara have hovered around $220/night. Airbnb reported 75% of listings still up for grabs in Santa Clara were asking more than $360 a night. (Here's a look at some of the top Bay Area Airbnb listings last year.)
