SF Hotel Rooms Are the World's Most Expensive, With a Caveat
San Francisco hotel room rates are the most expensive in the world, according to figures compiled by Bloomberg Business. But San Francisco Travel says the calculation is skewed because it includes the dates for next year's Super Bowl, which will be held in the Bay Area. The average price of a hotel room in the city has spiked 88% over the past year, to$397 per night, according to Bloomberg. (This year, the Mandarin Oriental set a record for the most paid per room, at $1M.) That price tops No. 2 Geneva and No. 3 Milan. In comparison, Geneva hotels cost an average of $292 per night. Travelers shell out $271 in Milan and pay an average of $240 per night in Chicago and Miami, which tied for the second priciest US hotel cities. For the full list, click here. [SFBT]
